Pepper Poppers.
Here’s a recipe for jalapeno poppers. This is a staple at family gatherings for me and mine.
Start with some, usually, atomically hot jalapenos. Only atomically hot will do. No mild peppers around here. Usually, with a package of 20 bacon slices, you can make about 40 peppers. So you’ll need 20 jalapenos, two containers of cream cheese (I think they’re 12 ounces) and again, one package of bacon.
Cut them lengthwise, and clean them out. Note: Always use gloves. Unless you’re really tough. But, even still, use gloves.
Fill them with Onion and Chive cream cheese. (just spoon it in.)
Wrap in bacon. (Yep. Bacon. You’re welcome.)
Throw them in the oven at about 400 for 15 minutes or so, and they should come out looking about like this.
Before the final five or so minutes, you can sprinkle with a bit of brown sugar, which adds that sweet/salty/heat/savory element.
Pretty delish. Give it a try.
