You will not regret watching that video. It gets really interesting (and pretty) at about 1:30. But, if you’re an American like me and buying your pineapple from a supermarket thousands of miles from any kind of tropical climate (unless you count East Texas) you can make due with how I did it in the sideshow at the top.
Slice off the top and bottom.
Set it on one end.
Slice the rind off, piece by piece.
Use a spoon or a peeler to get the eyes out of the fruit.
Slice down the middle–and chunk or cube (or, ring…? is that what that slice is called? “Can slice” maybe?) as you need.
